Happy New Year 2010...

As I an typing this post, 37 final minutes of 2009 remains and it keeps on ticking away...
This is my last post of 2009.
When we hear about the New Year Countdown, the poem "Auld Lang Syne" comes to mind....and it does rhyme..syne and mind...Hehe..

Anyway, I have decided with you all the origin of this New Year classic.
It happens to be that "Auld Lang Syne" origins from a Scottish poem penned by Robert Burns in 1788, being sung to the tune of Roud 6294...

Auld Lang Syne in English are "Old Long Since" and ever since has been sung in the countdown to New Year in most of the English speaking countries...and has many versions...

These are the lyrics...HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 guys !!!!!

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you'll buy your pint cup !
and surely I'll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we've wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there's a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o' thine !
And we'll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

holidays are here again...

For the umpteenth time I 've been saying this but yet again I'm posting in this blog after a long hiatus...(told ya I'm sucks when it comes to commitment)...anyways I'm gonna type watever crosses my mind 2day...
of course holiday mood is conquering me all over...90 days of pure relaxations awaits...but I have to admit it was quite a rocky 1o months.

I admit I can't make everyone like me for what I am..so I pray to God everyday for strength to pass thru each day...and stick to a principle that yesterday is a history, tommorow is a mystery but today is a gift, thus called present...kinda catchy but true..

I also noticed frm my one of my friend who likes to listen to Reggae songs a lot..and as an effect he is calm and composed in nature ...complete opposite to me...emotional and short-tempered....
perhaps there is a link between music and affective after all....
in fact I'm at Starbucks rite nw and they r playing reggae music...and i felt relaxed...da feeling i havent felt in quite a some time...

So perhaps i should give a Reggae music a green light...

Anyway, just killing the time as my bus is due 2nite..

Holidays is a time for self-relfection...

Happy Holidays folks !!!

Whole Again...

This rare gem of a song was sung by a local band called Edge of Fire....unfortunately the band soon disbanded...therefore it;s hard to find their songs especially this one...the lyrics are beautiful..great voice by the frontman and the guitarist is good.... these are the lyrics and the download link for the song...hear it for urself...

I will love u till the day I die
I would tell u how much I'll need u everyday
for my life long to love some one like u
with a heart silhouetted the perfect passion

* I would try to be a better lover
I don't care if I lose my all
cause it's u I've been dreamin' for this life time
so here's my heart ,waitin' for u to take it baby

** come & take my heart tonite
cause it's u I've been waitin' for all the while
come & take my heart tonite
make me whole again

I see clouds filling up the moon
& the greens turnin' into blue & faded
I would say things were wrong & now I'm missin' u
I will have to make amends cause it'll be till the end

do u think I would stop for what I've been leavin' out these nights
girl I've been cravin' u'd be mine all mine
u are all that have made my life, I won't let u down this time
baby I want u back here in my life forever ...

Confused and disturbed....

I'm feeling so confused and disturbed....for the first time in 3 years I doubted why did I joined this teaching course....well the doubt had always been there ever since day 1...but today it seems that the doubt has mounted to an all-time high....it was an oral presentation....i got the points but my pronunciations brought me down...others speak clearly and fluently...even the lecturer noticed it and pin-point it...it was then i doubted my teaching abilities...cos we r talking about a career where the teacher's voice is the "insurance" of the career....and with bad pronunciations, my teaching career is pretty much DOOMED..
Therefore i am now divided whether to pursue my teaching career or to quit this course for good...
Oh God..Help Me !!!

Music Crossovers….

Hi , it;s been a while since i last posted on my blog…

Perhaps i'm sucks when it’s comes to commitment…towards blog + work + romance + etc..      :-P

Anyway, today’s post will be about musical crossovers….

Lately western music tends to follow Asian music (both oriental and Indian)…this has become more obvious since Slumdog-fever hits the cinemas..

Take the song “turntables” by Ciara ft. Chris Brown…d intro of d song similar to the intro of an A.R Rahman song in a Hindi movie called Bombay…I was shocked to hear it at first…

then, the asian mainstream music has started to “mingle” with the western hip-hop…

Take our very own Yogi B and Natchatira for example…they have briliantly blended Indian music and hip-hop…and created a all-new genre –> Tamil Hip-Hop…

then there’s a assimilation of western pop into asian music and also among Asian music genres

There are many more examples but i cant type it all here…This shows that the world has become borderless and diversity in music… MUSIC FOR LIFE !!!

These are the download link for two songs…hear it for urself… (link coming soon)…

back again...

Hi..I'm back again.. after a month hiatus....many things have happened...the massive outbreak of H1N1...especially in J.B. where there are many deaths occured...but in the centre of this melee...our institute had proven to be a safe haven for all its students as to date there are no H1N1 cases...although there are a few close scare that H1N1 eventually sneaked into the institute due to the influx of students to the clinic...perhaps it's the flu season and the outbreak of H1N1 has further caused a stir among the general public...but there's a party who benefit frm this...guess who....THE FACIAL MASK company of course...recent newspaper shows that sales of the masks rocketed to a new high thanks to the buzz caused by H1N1...nw dats wat i called easy money...KA-CHING !!!
then there there is an e-mail circulating that fruits and milk can help to reduce the effects of the swine flu...maybe it might be true..well, if it is, that's a revelation..but if that's not perhaps it's another DESPERATE propaganda to promote local fruits...

let just hope the swine flu outbreak could be contained as soon as possible...so normal activities can be resumed without fear...

Fatty Koo...

I just remembered some of the songs that I used to hear while I'm chillin' out on the days towards SPM '05...
during that time, names such as Papa Roach, Fort Minor were famous...but one particular name caught my mind....
FATTY KOO...
I wonder wat type of name is dat ? Soon I found out, they are hip-hop sextet (3 guys and 3 ladies)..n their song was named "Bounce"... the rythm of the song are nice and all of the members are talented, able to play violin, sax...Unfortunately, the group was disbanded in late 2006 due to low collection of their album "The House of Fatty Koo" or perhaps the name Fatty Koo is a bad name for a hip-hop group...
Bounce [14x]

[Chorus:]
We's be bouncin, flippin, jumpin, jazz funkin, just do something
bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce
boogie woogie to tha boogaloo beat
Use your moves and don't refuse it just feel the music and
bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce
boogie woogie to tha boogaloo beat

[2nd Chorus:]
Get busy baby get tha funk with me
I'm ready do you wanna rock with me

(Come to Bali here all night.
Come to Bali until the morning.)

Lord Tanamo - I'm in the Mood for Love...

This is a reggae song by a legendary ska performer named Lord Tanamo... the lyrics are simple yet meaningful...This song has many versions but the actual first version was written in 1932. Yet, this version is my favourite...

Lord Tanamo - I'm In the Mood for Love

I´m in the mood for love

Simply because you're near me
Funny but when you're near me
I'm in the mood for love

Heaven is in your eyes
Bright as the stars we're under
oh is it any wonder
I'm in the mood for love

why stop to think that whether
each little dream I pray
we'll put our hearts together
now we are one, I'm not afraid

if there's a cloud above
if it should rain well let it
over tonight forget it
I'm in the mood for love

My own poem...

This is the poem of my own creation for English assignment..based on my life at IPGM. It goes like this...

LIFE OF A TEACHER TRAINEE

KRINGGGG……

The clock struck six,

To the world I say good morning,

Though I know the day promised full of jinx,

So I rushed for my daily dose of hot water,

To prepare Milo and oatmeal,

Easy to eat, easy to cater,

Indeed a hearty meal.

Morning trips to the bathroom,

Is like strategizing a pit-stop for a car race,

Judging the right time is crucial,

Or traffic jam is what you will embrace,

Then back to the room,

Get myself groomed before the assembly.

Then, there is the lecture,

5 hours of boredom and torture,

With 30 minutes of recess in between,

A huge test of patience to this teen,

Though I know the lecturers’ intention are noble,

To create a super teacher is their goal,

And mine alike.

So there we are together on this mountain hike.

Weekends is a blessing,

The one I am craving,

An escape from the hectic weekdays,

The only period where we can off our alarms,

Free to do whatever we want,

Shopping, watching movie or simply loitering,

Just getting a deserved rest,

Before activating the buzz mood again,

THIS IS THE LIFE OF A TEACHER TRAINEE!!!

The Square Root of Three...

Hello fellas... I'm back after 1 month gap... lots of assignments or ASS-signments should I say... Anywhere I just wanna share this romantic yet quirky poem called "The Square Root of Three". This powm is made famous by the movie , Harold & Kumar : Escape from Guatanamo Bay. The poet has well-blended maths and literature in this poem. The poem sounds like this...

The Square Root of Three

By David Feinberg

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three

The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed

This is the video of the poem being recited in the movie...

Dragonball Evolution...

I've managed to get the ticket for the premier of this movie last Thursday. The film was fine, well-taken. The director planned to adjust the story to the modern era instead of following exactly to the classic manga, which is a good thing. And with the producer, Stephen Chow, I expect some comedy and I wasn't dissappointed. Chow Yun Fat did the comical role , the first I have seen from him as he only did serious role in his previous movies such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Replacement Killers. But one thing puzzled me is that the movie got premiered in Asia 1 month earlier than America and Europe despite being an American movie.
Overall, i will rate the movie 4 over 5 stars.

Of "Kambing" and maths....

Last Wednesday, I had a lecture on a subject called RESOURCE IN MATHEMATICS.

The topic of the day was Software Packages. Suddenly, the lecturer asked a person to give an example of teaching aids he has created in the past using computer software.

So, he said he created a teaching aid to help primary students to spell.

He adapted the example "Kambing" where he included the pitcure, sound of the correct proniunciation and animations.

Then, the lecturer asks another student to repeat whatever the first person had said and she said exactly what the first person had said, especially the "kambing". The lecturer however said, he didn't hear the word "kambing".

That was the start of the chaos...

He with anger on his face then ask the poor girl to repeat what she said and again she said everything , plus the "kambing".

This has made the lecturer further infuriated and he (or should i say she) asks what's with the "kambing".

The whole class had heard the word but the lecturer....

After about 15 mins of the "kambing" debate, we surredered.

The lecturer said in the end not to add unrelated points, yeah rite !

Kambing oh kambing...
