Hosanna...

Finally the wait for the audios for the movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (VTV in short) or "Would You Cross the Skies for Me" is over....Audios was being released officially on 12th of this month...
The bumper combination of Gautham Menon (director) and double Oscar winner A.R. Rahman (music director) plus Simbhu and Trisha as the leading casts promises to be Valentine's Day sell-out. The Mozart of Chennai has produced 6 beautiful tracks for this movie...which my ears won't go weary hearing these songs repeatedly. All the songs were nice but my personal favourite was the song , Hosanna. If you google this word, it will say it is a word of praise in Christianity and Judaism. But, however in the context of this movie, the word is recited as joy of falling in love. This is the lyric for the song... enjoy....

P/s Pls give your support by buying Original CD's...can't wait for the movie's release on Feb 12...

Ponggal Valzhtukkal

Tomorrow on January 14th, Indians worldwide will be celebrating Ponggal. Boiling rice until it spills out of the claypot is a norm in this festival . This is to symbolize the longevity of prosperity. Pongal is basically a harvest festival , to mark an end to a traditional farming season in mainland India. Pongal also marks the start of the northwards movement of the Sun for the remaining six months. Traditionally, Ponggal is celebrated in 4 days, 1st day is called Boghi where people will throw off unwanted , old products and changed them with new products , symbolising the new spirit in life. 2nd day is Thaiponggal itself, 1st day of the Thai month , 3rd day is called Maatu Ponggal and the 4th day is Kannum Ponggal. For more info on this festival, click What is Pongal ?
Last but not least, I would like to wish all my Indian friends Happy Ponggal.
En Iniya Ponggal Valzhtukkal . Ponggalo Ponggal !!!!

Happy New Year 2010...

As I an typing this post, 37 final minutes of 2009 remains and it keeps on ticking away...
This is my last post of 2009.
When we hear about the New Year Countdown, the poem "Auld Lang Syne" comes to mind....and it does rhyme..syne and mind...Hehe..

Anyway, I have decided with you all the origin of this New Year classic.
It happens to be that "Auld Lang Syne" origins from a Scottish poem penned by Robert Burns in 1788, being sung to the tune of Roud 6294...

Auld Lang Syne in English are "Old Long Since" and ever since has been sung in the countdown to New Year in most of the English speaking countries...and has many versions...

These are the lyrics...HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 guys !!!!!

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you'll buy your pint cup !
and surely I'll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we've wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS
And there's a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o' thine !
And we'll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

holidays are here again...

For the umpteenth time I 've been saying this but yet again I'm posting in this blog after a long hiatus...(told ya I'm sucks when it comes to commitment)...anyways I'm gonna type watever crosses my mind 2day...
of course holiday mood is conquering me all over...90 days of pure relaxations awaits...but I have to admit it was quite a rocky 1o months.

I admit I can't make everyone like me for what I am..so I pray to God everyday for strength to pass thru each day...and stick to a principle that yesterday is a history, tommorow is a mystery but today is a gift, thus called present...kinda catchy but true..

I also noticed frm my one of my friend who likes to listen to Reggae songs a lot..and as an effect he is calm and composed in nature ...complete opposite to me...emotional and short-tempered....
perhaps there is a link between music and affective after all....
in fact I'm at Starbucks rite nw and they r playing reggae music...and i felt relaxed...da feeling i havent felt in quite a some time...

So perhaps i should give a Reggae music a green light...

Anyway, just killing the time as my bus is due 2nite..

Holidays is a time for self-relfection...

Happy Holidays folks !!!

Whole Again...

This rare gem of a song was sung by a local band called Edge of Fire....unfortunately the band soon disbanded...therefore it;s hard to find their songs especially this one...the lyrics are beautiful..great voice by the frontman and the guitarist is good.... these are the lyrics and the download link for the song...hear it for urself...

I will love u till the day I die
I would tell u how much I'll need u everyday
for my life long to love some one like u
with a heart silhouetted the perfect passion

* I would try to be a better lover
I don't care if I lose my all
cause it's u I've been dreamin' for this life time
so here's my heart ,waitin' for u to take it baby

** come & take my heart tonite
cause it's u I've been waitin' for all the while
come & take my heart tonite
make me whole again

I see clouds filling up the moon
& the greens turnin' into blue & faded
I would say things were wrong & now I'm missin' u
I will have to make amends cause it'll be till the end

do u think I would stop for what I've been leavin' out these nights
girl I've been cravin' u'd be mine all mine
u are all that have made my life, I won't let u down this time
baby I want u back here in my life forever ...

Confused and disturbed....

I'm feeling so confused and disturbed....for the first time in 3 years I doubted why did I joined this teaching course....well the doubt had always been there ever since day 1...but today it seems that the doubt has mounted to an all-time high....it was an oral presentation....i got the points but my pronunciations brought me down...others speak clearly and fluently...even the lecturer noticed it and pin-point it...it was then i doubted my teaching abilities...cos we r talking about a career where the teacher's voice is the "insurance" of the career....and with bad pronunciations, my teaching career is pretty much DOOMED..
Therefore i am now divided whether to pursue my teaching career or to quit this course for good...
Oh God..Help Me !!!

Music Crossovers….

Hi , it;s been a while since i last posted on my blog…

Perhaps i'm sucks when it’s comes to commitment…towards blog + work + romance + etc..      :-P

Anyway, today’s post will be about musical crossovers….

Lately western music tends to follow Asian music (both oriental and Indian)…this has become more obvious since Slumdog-fever hits the cinemas..

Take the song “turntables” by Ciara ft. Chris Brown…d intro of d song similar to the intro of an A.R Rahman song in a Hindi movie called Bombay…I was shocked to hear it at first…

then, the asian mainstream music has started to “mingle” with the western hip-hop…

Take our very own Yogi B and Natchatira for example…they have briliantly blended Indian music and hip-hop…and created a all-new genre –> Tamil Hip-Hop…

then there’s a assimilation of western pop into asian music and also among Asian music genres

There are many more examples but i cant type it all here…This shows that the world has become borderless and diversity in music… MUSIC FOR LIFE !!!

These are the download link for two songs…hear it for urself… (link coming soon)…
